Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fun for all friends and family!
I should probably state that the last time I played a racing game was on my PC using the arrow keys to control a make shift car about 15 years ago. I am no gamer that is for sure, however this could be about to change with the wii and Mario Kart. The wii has converted me into buying a console and Mario Kart has given me a love for racing games.

To begin with I found the operation using the wheel very easy to master. I am not that good when it comes to joysticks and other things so being able to turn the wheel like I would in a car is a major plus for me. There are good number of cars and motorbikes to choose from and courses. I am sure there are many more to unlock if I am ever able to be able to win. But even with my zero skill and never really being able to keep much above 8th place I have found the game interesting and fun.

I love the extras that allow you to throw traps at your opponents and give you extra boosts of speed that allow you to shoot forward. I would recommend buying an extra wii wheel if you intend to have multi-players. I think the wheel allows people of all ages to player together and have lots of fun. Kids can feel as though they have been allowed to drive before they can.

For me personally I truly cannot recommend this game enough for people to buy. Even you none racing fans I would say give it a try.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - MarioKart Strikes Again!
What can you say about the game franchise? It never fails to entertain and addict! It is worth every penny, even buying a second, third, or fourth Wii Wheel! (which is also great to use, FYI) If you can't handle the new fangled Wii Wheel there are options to control with the classic controller OR the Game Cube controller.

And if you have wireless...Online play is fun and instant. It takes only a minute or so and you are playing a battle with people from Japan, Europe, South America, etc...

Overall, the best game I have for my Wii so far!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another Great Wii Game
Ordered the Mariokart, order was shipped same day, received an email with UPS tracking number. Great service.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very Fun! A MUST Have Wii Game!
This is one of those must have games for the Wii! The game play is fairly easy to learn but challenging to master, making it a game that can be played over and over without becoming boring or repetitious. The huge range selectable options (type of vehicle, character, track, etc) allows a player to move on to something new once an old configuration is mastered. Add in the multi-player and on-line play options and you have a game that is worth far more than the price of most other games.

The included Wii Wheel makes playing much more enjoyable and additional Wheels are not that expensive, so if you will be playing multi-player you should consider getting an additional one to keep the race "fair" :-)

Very highly recommended!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A Greater Disappointment Than Double Dash!!
Mario Kart Wii has the potential to be a great game, but because of two very ill-conceived aspects, is virtually unplayable and unenjoyable.

Unbalanced gameplay is what prevents me from rating this higher than one star. One item in particular is the blue shell, first introduced in the Nintendo 64 Mario Kart, then reformulated in the Gamecube Double Dash!! iteration to its present form, is an item that, when released, flies over all players to bomb the one in first place. When in first place, you cannot defend yourself against it unless you have in your possession a mushroom you use at the exact moment, but receiving a mushroom in first place is extremely rare. If this sounds like punishing good players, then you would be right. What makes this especially egregious is that the item is used by the computer in 1-player mode, particularly as the lone human player is nearing the finish line after being in first place for the majority of the race.

The other aspect that seems ill-conceived is the driver ranking, ranging from C, B, A, *, **, ***. This allegedly rates your driving skill. What is ridiculous is that to get a ***, the highest ranking, you must be in first place the vast majority of the races, win every race, and avoid wiping out on items. Some races I have received a rank of ** for winning every race but one with huge leads over the rest of the pack. Other times, I have received a rank of C, despite winning every race, including several where I led the race, only to go from first to last in the final lap due to a blue shell and other unavoidable items randomly generated by the computer. In my opinion, the greater "driving skill" and rank comes from those who are so good they can win a race despite being "sent to the back" with less than half a lap to go.

Overall, the game has great courses (for the most part), great character roster, and a great variety of karts and bikes. On paper, this looks like a great game.

But video games should be fun, and when one is not fun because the computer "cheats," I cannot rank it highly.
