Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent!
A great addition to the Stargate universe. This gives an end to an on-going storyline without sacrificing the story. It's good to see all the same characters fight the good fight. I really enjoy this movie.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Great Movie
I love the stargate television shows Stargate SG-1 & Stargate Atlantis, when i saw this was available i had to add it to my collection

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - An episode of SG-1
This is just an episode of Stargate, SG-1. It is not a movie by any measure.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good but not great!
I enjoyed Continuum much more. Maybe because it gives closure to the series. But, if you have enjoyed Stargate SG-1 all these years, you will enjoy this DVD then.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Rushed but memorable
One of the main reasons the final seasons of SG-1 worked for me was the addition of Browder and Black to the cast. I know there are people who don't share that sentiment. With that in mind, I expected less from Ark of Truth. This movie is basically a 'compressed' Season 11. This makes it more frustrating to watch than a standard episode, what with quickly-resolved "plotlines" inserted here and there. Luckily, anyone who likes SG-1 shouldn't be fazed by the occasional deus ex machina, though the ending admittedly feels rushed. There is a fair amount of tension, which is surprise given that SG-1's good guys are notorious for their refusal to bite the dust.

The increased FX budget is nice. Just as the subsequent movie, Stargate: Continuum, borrowed its plot from 1/2 of Star Trek: First Contact, this movie borrows the other half; Namely, the good guys' starship falls under siege by parasitic robots. Cue the claustrophobic corridors and darkened lighting. At least they stole from the best.

Col. Mitchell is snarky and unflappable as usual (I prefer his character over O'Neil, who always grated my nerves). Carter is stuck (as usual) trying to get an alien computer to work, but her relationship with Mitchell is rather cute. Vala Mal Doran doesn't do much, which is atrocious, but she does trade barbs with the main baddie for a good part of the film, so that's something. I may be biased, since she is my favorite character. Even General Landry surprised me here; his face-to-face confrontation with a Prior is awesome. I would have preferred a full season over a 2-hour movie, and the bad guys topple over pretty easily. But the action and performances redeem it.
