Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the most amazing advances in technology ever.
The iPod touch has it all- Internet access, music, videos, and everything else you can ask for in an iPod. Simply put, if you're wanting an iPod, this is the real dea. I'm sure the new Nanos coming out will be fantastic, but nothing will ever come close to this. I can't believe this has been out for over a year now, because this still feels brand new as if it just got released. I got myself one of these and I can't stop listening to it!

PROS:
-Touch screen has brightness adjustment
-Album cover visible while listening to music
-Cover flow is great, you can pick whatever album you want
-iTunes is included
-Comes with something if you wanna blast it through a huge speaker
-iBuds have been improved a bit, they fit in your ear much better
-YouTube is incredibly fast
-Safari is really fun, you can go on whatever website
-Great video quality

CONS:
-Sometimes the font on websites can be annoyingly small
-facebook goes automatically to iPhone
-Battery life is annoyingly short (though I guess this is understandable since the backlight is always on)

Aside from those cons, this is a beautiful thing. This is something I'm glad I bought, it's amazing. If you need an iPod really bad, buy one of these!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best gadget you could buy
This ipod is not only a music, photo, movie player. Its also a hand held with internet access and a bunch of application you can install through itunes. I'm not going to make a full review of it because there are a lot of them in here, but if you are looking for the a gadget that does everything... well the itouch is for you

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Little Radio I've Ever Owned
I didn't need, nor want an iPhone as I'm perfectly happy with my RAZR and my Bluetooth ear piece. I never take my phone out of the BACKPACK I use as a purse, when it rings I just tap my ear and I'm talking. And I have a perfectly good iPod, so when I wandered into the Apple Store in San Diego I wasn't really in the market for anything Apple, not at this time.

But I picked up an iPod Touch and started to wonder, can I stream AOL radio on the thing. Probably not, as I'd heard you couldn't get the iTunes radio stations. But I was wrong. I only had the thing in my hands for a couple minutes before figuring out how to download AOL Radio onto the Touch. Three minutes later I was paying for one and I use it all the time. I love the talk radio stations from all over the country and I love the great blues stations and the super rock stations. All the other good stuff that comes with the touch are neat as well, like the 32 gigs of rock and roll you can put on there, but for me, it was the streaming radio. I just love my Touch.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I love it... Use it all the time
I purchased a refurbished 4GB on Amazon a few months back. I think this is the best thing since sliced bread. Everything works perfectly for me. The only problem I had was after I purchased a case for it that had magnets in it. These extremely powerful magnets would make the touch lock up every day for a week. I found nothing online about the problem, but took the magnets out and it has not locked up once in 4 months.

BTW: 8 gigs is plenty if you want to save some bucks. I have a dozen videos, and tons of music on this baby.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - My IPOD Touch is in a drawer.
My IPOD Touch is in a drawer.

I had higher hopes for this toy. I was so happy when I saw it at Fry's after about 30 minutes of playing with it and coddling it's shiny interface in my hands.. Ahh gadget lust.. The flesh is weak and I finally got one for myself.

After having played with the unit for sometime, and outside of the genius interface, I think the IPOD brand is all hype [as far as Audio goes] at this stage.

Here are my Pros/Cons review of my IPOD Touch 32 GB.

Some high points about my I-touch 32GB:

----I like it as a PDA, but I don't really use a PDA, so yawwwwwn.

----The browser interface is a work of art, my hats off to this implementation.

----The appstore is very interesting, I think this will keep the unit selling well. I never did like the download experience from other products like Pocket PC or Palm, they were trash.

----Very nice GUI touch interface, it had me entertained for about about 30 minutes. That's a record I think... :)

Some issues however:

----I just payed $[...] for this toy and 2 months later they want money for me to "BUY" an update to get their mostly useful [some free], but SIMPLE, software apps from their APP store? Uhh, did I miss the Sony logo on this thing somewhere and where's a trash can? I think Google Android is gonna kill here, the Android free apps I have seen absolutely kill the Apple appstore free apps.

----I really didn't think much of the Touch as an audio player. Audio was tinny and very cheap sounding even with high-end audio files [tried different headphones and Touch equalizer settings].

----There are no physical volume buttons or track controls.. unacceptable for daily use. This is Steve Jobs getting his "design" way as usual. Maybe I need this to solve this massive design flaw.. tinyurl.com / 5rtyx3 Even the old IPODS came with an in-line remote control for these features.

----Sony makes a better sounding portable cd-player for 20 bucks. I have two in my drawer of old electronics and wanted to make sure my ears weren't going bad.. so I did a double blind test between a few 320 MP3s and the 44.1KHz CD. No surprise, my 320mp3 even sounded better on other MP3 hardware. The Touch was quite bad.

----I had high hopes for ITUNES. I mean, it's a 7 year old application. OMG what a locked-down piece of garbage, just as bad as Sony music interface application. At least with other MP3 players, I can force-feed my data [audio/video] onto the unit somehow. But with ITUNES and the Touch everything is locked down and ITUNES seems to "convert or re-encode" the audio tracks when writing to the Touch, so who knows what the heck it's writing into the touch's memory.

----Don't get me started with Video format playback. I just mini-vomited. Just to compare, even the cheapy PSP [$[...]] plays back a ton of Video formats [after a few FREE software updates from Sony BTW] and you can easily put content onto the memory-stick or grab it using WIFI. And yes, the PSP is also in my death-drawer, but that is because I just got board with it after a few hours, but it's not a bad unit, I must just have ADD. To be fair, the PSP screen sucks hard though, image ghosting is a nightmare on video playback, hand me a fork to gouge my eyes out!

----Memory Capacity: The 32 GB are there on the Touch, engraved cutely on the back of the unit and listed in the system setting details as promised, but it's a complete hassle getting "my content" onto the unit. After putting-in some quality time with ITUNES, I finally got about 200 MB of audio on the unit, where ITUNES wanted to "transfer" things using it's bloated interface, I thought I was going to fall asleep. I had to check I was not using a serial cable circa-1992 and confirmed it was USB 2.0. I could go on and on here.... BAD software and more locked-down than a death-row inmate.

Sorry, that's just my experience with the little toy.
