- Coldplay still fresh soundingWhen a group goes mainstream in a significant way, it always seems like a deathwatch begins for their music to turn safe or derivative because they've simply run out of ideas or are attempting to appeal to the widest possible audience. Fortunately, Coldplay hasn't (yet?) gotten to that point with their latest album. Rating: - Yawn- give me St.Anger any day!Yawn! What a snoozefest of an album. Whoever likes this album is a total dork. And some of you have the nerve to give this 5 stars and call it a "masterpiece"! Yikes. I'd take good 'ol St.Anger or Staind over this "artistic" garbage. Rating: - VIVA LA VIDA-VIVA COLDPLAYThis is a super and magnificent album from coldplay. Everybody should have it and cheer with the world. VIVA COLDPLAY!!!!.... Rating: - Not bad...I have to say the CD is a slightly different style from what I am used to hearing from Coldplay. Overall the CD is decent, the blending from song to song and the order that was choosen is a great listen. some of the songs are definitely not going to be number one hits in my book, but overall I usually buy a CD for one song anyways... Rating: - Coldplay does it againI'm a huge Coldplay fan, and Viva La Vida does not disappoint. There is definitely a common death theme in many of the songs, but I didn't find it overwhelming or depressing. Chris Martin's voice is not the most amazing I have ever heard by any means, yet their music is still beautiful. His voice just fits the instruments and lyrics so well. My favorite tracks on this album were Cemetaries of London, Lost, Viva La Vida, Violet Hill and Death and All His Friends. Lost is a great song to sing along to. Buy this album!
