Believe it or not the Dick Van Dyke was almost cancelled it's first year. After barely making it to it's second season it was placed behind the very popular Beverly Hillbillies. After that it stayed consistently in the top ten for the rest of it's five year run, and it earned two Emmys  for Dick Van Dyke.
