Wednesday November 28, 2001 Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe wants to take Stalag 13 to the big screen by developing and starring in a movie version of Hogan's Heroes. Previously Mel Gibson wanted to play Colonel Hogan but he pursued other projects and Destination Films, the production company that controlled the Hogan property went under. So the company Revolution got the rights for Hogan's Heroes and began looking for a big star to play Colonel Robert Hogan.
