Twilight Zone Facts According to the Book TV Facts and Trivia Twilight Zone was perhaps the only show to ever win an Academy Award. The final episode was a short film made in France, which qualified it for an Oscar. It was also shown on another series Alfred Hitchcock Presents. The Show never had good ratings but could always find advertisers due to its high quality. The producers wanted Orson Welles to narrate, but despite intense stage fright Rod Serling insisted he open and close each episode. Two of Serling's most famous works were "Requiem for a Heavyweight" and the "Planet of the Apes." Many of the show's guest stars went on to great fame, including Jack Klugman, William Shatner, Burgess Meredith, Dick York, Roddy McDowell, Cliff Robertson, Lee Marvin, Jonathan Winters, Carol Burnett, and Robert Redford.
