Well these days you can now have DSL Internet service and not have to have a phone service on top of that. A lot of people are just using cell phones and getting rid of their home phones.
There’s a new thing called magicjack . It costs $39.95 and includes a one-year license for calls in the U.S. and Canada; after that, service costs $19.95 per year. That’s a year, but of course I have a fear myself going into it. Seems a little too good to be true. It’s getting a lot of good press, but there are as you would expect some unhappy people as well. Perhaps, I’ll give a try after people I know personally are on it. I can recommend one thing for you if you are like me and undecided. I called a few months back ready to cancel my phone service and use cell phones instead. I got a good discount on my phone service for 6 months. It never hurts to call.
Oh and for something similiar to magicjack but a lot more expensive is Vonage. It’s a monthly payment instead of yearly.
