Hit List (also known as Calderon's Return: [Part 1] )

Crockett and Tubbs are almost ready to leave their stakeout post, but first Sonny has to shave and dress up to go to his divorce hearing. Dropped off at the courthouse, Sonny gets rubbed the wrong way by both Caroline’s lawyer and his own. Taking a moment out with his wife, they discuss their problem one more time and decide to cancel the hearing, giving their union a little longer. Sonny laughs,

“Our divorce was a bigger failure than our marriage!”

But back at the stakeout, Switek and Zito are growing ever more bored until they witness a drug dealer get blown away, along with his driver and bodyguard. Stan radios in the gunman’s getaway car, and Rico follows the pursuit until they reach a motel. Then a noisy entrance by squad cars scares off the gunman, but he’s left two frightening pieces of evidence behind--photograph and a hit list. Rico and Lt. Rodriguez drive to Sonny’s place, interrupting a romantic afternoon with Caroline to bring him the bad news. Sonny is the last of eight names on the list, and only the one name remains before him. Interpol reveals that the shooter is a professional known only as “The Argentinian” but his face is unknown. Sonny bristles at going into protective custody with Caroline and their son Billy, but ordered by Rodriguez, they drive to the marina to pick up some things.

After they leave, Rico gets a good look at the photograph and recognizes a face in the background--Calderon! He’s wiping out the competing dealers in Miami and plans to ice the cake with the cop that arrested him. Rico makes a desperate call to Sonny’s boat.

At the marina Sonny’s ready to go, but when he stops to answer the phone, a yell and a shot ring out. Sonny dives for cover, but when he looks out, he sees Lou Rodriguez threw himself in front of Sonny, taking the sniper’s round. While Lou is in surgery, Rico tries to shout some sense into Sonny, but he won’t hear it. That bullet was meant for him, and now he wants the Argentinian nailed. Together Sonny and Rico go to shake down Linus Oliver, the last dealer on the hit list, and he arranges a meeting with Calderon’s go-between, a player named Mendez. Despite a brawl breaking out in Oliver’s club, Mendez is identified and arrested. Sonny heads to the safehouse to bring Caroline and Billy home.

Just as the crisis seems to be over, it happens. In the middle of interrogating Mendez, Tubbs receives a call that Oliver was just blown away. Mendez is involved, but the Argentinian is still out there, and he’s going after Sonny!

At Crockett’s house, gunfire erupts from the dining room as Sonny pushes Caroline and Billy out of the way. Shooting out the lights, Sonny keeps the Argentinian pinned down until Rico arrives. Outnumbered, the Argentinian flees from the house, only to be shot down by a platoon of backup.

Sonny and Caroline embrace one last time, agreeing to reschedule the divorce hearing, no lawyers. The news only gets worse. Rico answers a call on the carphone saying that Lou has died of his wounds. Mendez has given up Calderon’s location--the Bahamas. Sonny and Rico are going after him again.. Part 2
