Little Miss Dangerous, Angry Young
Man)
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Ted Nugent moved with his family to Chicago in the mid-60’s and formed the Amboy Dukes. The band endured constant personnel changes over ten years, so that by the end of their run, Ted was the only original member left. After the breakup, Ted launched a solo career, adopting the “Motor City Madman” persona, and often appearing onstage in little more than a towel! Ted found a massive audience with albums including “Free-For-All” (1976), the multi-platinum “Cat Scratch Fever” (1977), and “Scream Dream” (1980).
Unfortunately, as the rock scene and his backing band changed, Ted’s recording success declined through the early 80’s. Kept afloat by public appearances, Ted’s popularity was revived to a degree by “Little Miss Dangerous” (1986), whose title track became the theme of a 2nd season Miami Vice episode, and the single “Angry Young Man”, was featured in the episode where Ted guest-starred. Later in the 80’s Ted formed the hair band Damn Yankees, which despite their popularity, released only two albums. Ted returned to solo recording with the release of “Spirit Of The Wild” (1995), “Noble Savage” (2000) and “Craveman” (2002).
Today, Ted lives back in Michigan with his wife, Shemane. Aside from his music career, he is an avid hunter, author of several books on outdoor recreation, and speaks as an advocate for firearm safety and drug resistance. Of course, his fans are always listening for new music. Ted Nugent's Official
