I think ads are ok on websites as long as their not popping up or under flying across my computer screen or yelling at me. I also hate the click to go on ads. It seems like their relying on surfers accidentally clicking on the link vs actually wanting to visit the ad's site.
That's not a very reliable way of getting a good turnover rate if you ask me. I use ads all over my sites, but they are usually in the same spots and to the best of my ability relate to the content of the site so that they actually add a benefit to visitors hopefully vs just annoying them. |
